　　1，abroad  adv. 在外國(guó)；廣泛地；傳播

　　短語(yǔ)： 1. from abroad  從國(guó)外，從海外

　　e.g. His parents has just come back from abroad.

　　他的父母剛剛從海外回來(lái)，我們?nèi)タ赐�他們吧�?br />
　　2. go abroad 出國(guó)

　　2，after adv., prep & conj. 在……之后；晚于

　　短語(yǔ)： after all 終究，畢竟

　　e.g. It has turned out to be a nice day after all.   天氣終于轉(zhuǎn)晴了。

　　3，again  adv. 再一次；加之，此外

　　短語(yǔ)：1. again and again  一次又一次地，反復(fù)地，再三地

　　e.g. I called him again and again, but he didn't answer the telephone.

　　我一次又一次地給他打電話，可是他就是不接。

　　2. now and again 有時(shí)

　　e.g. He came to see me now and again.   他過(guò)去來(lái)看望我。

　　4，ago  adv. 以前；以往；

　　短語(yǔ)： 1. long ago  很久以前，從前：

　　e.g. Long long ago there loved horses.

　　很久以前，有一位國(guó)王，他喜愛(ài)馬。

　　2. some time ago 不久前

　　e.g.Some time ago,I heard he would come to see me.

　　不久前，我聽(tīng)說(shuō)他要來(lái)看我。

　　3. a while ago. 剛才

　　He was here a while ago. 他剛才還在這兒。

　　近義詞辨析：ago 和 before

　　ago: 應(yīng)注意兩點(diǎn)：1. 用于一般過(guò)去時(shí)； 2. 它所指的時(shí)間是從現(xiàn)在算起。

　　before: 也應(yīng)該注意兩點(diǎn)：1. 用于過(guò)去完成時(shí)； 2. 她所指的時(shí)間不是從現(xiàn)在算起，而是從過(guò)去某一時(shí)刻算起。A short time before, tall trees had covered the country for many miles around. 在那時(shí)不久之前，高大的樹(shù)木覆蓋著方圓數(shù)英里。
