　　4. ever adv. 永遠(yuǎn)，曾經(jīng)，究竟

　　【用法】主要用于否定句、疑問句等，常位于助動(dòng)詞或情態(tài)動(dòng)詞之后，行為動(dòng)詞之前，意思是 “曾經(jīng)”“以前”，有時(shí)往往有較靈活的譯法。

　　【例句】Have you ever been abroad？

　　【考查點(diǎn)】辨析：before與ago

　　ago 是副詞，“……以前”。它指從此刻起若干時(shí)間以前，常與過去時(shí)連用。

　　【例句】His parents died ten years ago.

　　before 也可以用作副詞，表示“……以前”，常與完成時(shí)連用。也可放在時(shí)間點(diǎn)之前。

　　【例句】I have never been there before.

　　Please come here before six o’clock.

　　the other“兩個(gè)數(shù)量中的另一個(gè)”，表示特指，總數(shù)為倆；another“總數(shù)為三個(gè)以上中任意的另一個(gè)”，表示泛指。

　　One is a doctor and the other is a nurse.
