　　Small machines have been invented to measure(測量) time. They are clocks and watches. The invention was a great success.

　　Today almost everyone wears a watch on his arm to tell the time. Same watches also tell the date. Men, women and children wear them. Now good watches are almostcompletely correct. Repairs and oiling are seldom necessary.

　　A clock wakes us. The clock at the office records the time we arrive at work, and the one in the kitchen tells us when dinner is ready. We try to be on time forconferences, we try to save time for important things and not to waste time on stupid things, and we pay for time to park on a busy street. People often say that time is money . Truly we can create wealth by using time in a proper way.

　　Time passes rapidly, and it never returns. We want to be always young, but that's impossible. That is the magic of time.We can't catch time. Time isdifficult to control and easy to waste. In fact, time is dangerous. If we don’t control it, it will control us. So we must become the master of time, not its servant.

　　Time is fair to everyone. Let's make good use of our time! Never put off until tomorrow what can be done today.

　　時(shí)間永不復(fù)返

　　人們已經(jīng)發(fā)明(invent)測量時(shí)間的小機(jī)器(machine)。它們是鐘表(clock)和手表。這項(xiàng)發(fā)明是一個(gè)偉大的成功。

　　如今幾乎每個(gè)人都在胳膊上戴著一塊手表來看時(shí)間，有些也可看日期(date)。男女老少都戴手表。現(xiàn)在好的手表幾乎是完全準(zhǔn)確的(completely correct)，很少需要修理(repair)或上油。

　　鐘表可以叫醒我們。辦公室的鐘表記錄我們上班時(shí)到達(dá)的時(shí)間，廚房的鐘表告訴我們什么時(shí)間飯做好了。我們盡力及時(shí)參加會議(conference)，我們盡力為重要事情節(jié)省時(shí)間而不把時(shí)間浪費(fèi)(waste)在愚蠢的事情上，在繁忙的街道我們?yōu)橥＼嚨臅r(shí)間付費(fèi)。人們常說“時(shí)間就是金錢”。確實(shí)我們可以通過合理利用時(shí)間而創(chuàng)造財(cái)富(create wealth)。

　　時(shí)間快速地(rapidly)逝去，永不復(fù)返。我們想要永遠(yuǎn)年輕，但那是不可能的，這就是時(shí)間的魅力(magic)。我們無法抓住時(shí)間�？刂�(control)時(shí)間是困難的(difficult)，但浪費(fèi)時(shí)間很容易。實(shí)際上，時(shí)間是危險(xiǎn)的。如果我們不去控制時(shí)間，它將控制我們。因此我們必須成為時(shí)間的主人(master)而不是它的仆人(servant)。

　　時(shí)間對每個(gè)人都是公平的(fair)，讓我們好好利用(make good use of)我們的時(shí)間吧！今天能做的事不要拖延(put off)到明天（今日事今日畢）!?
